Michael E. "Mikey" Fletcher was born to Lois Edwin and Helen Beatrice (Taylor) Fletcher on July 5, 1948, at Duncan, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on June 11, 2011 at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 6 days. Mike grew up at Walters graduating from WHS in 1966 and then went on to attend Cameron College. He married Paula Ann Agler on August 8, 1969 and to the union 3 daughters were born. Through the years Mike has been engaged in farming, hauled cement for Lawton Transit Mix and hauled gravel for Snider Construction. He was currently employed by the City of Walters and also drove the tanker semi for the Walters Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed being a cowboy chuck wagon cook, hunting and napping. He loved spending time with the grandkids and was known as Poppy to many other kids as well. Mike was a member of the Walters Roundup Club and the Lawton Rangers, and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation and the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his father Lois; paternal grandparents, Frank and Annie Fletcher; maternal grandparents, Carroll and Beatrice Taylor; his uncles, Dale Taylor and Archie Fletcher; and his father-in-law, Alfred E. Agler. Survivors include his wife Paula of the home; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Kevin Carroll of Glenpool, OK, Mica and Thomas Smith, Tori and Sam Gonzalez all of Walters, OK; his mother, Helen Fletcher of Walters; a brother, Stephen Fletcher and wife Marilynn of Walters; a sister Karen Fletcher of Wylie, TX; an aunt, Dee Taylor of Cyril, OK; his mother-in-law, Fern Agler of Walters; a sister-in-law Pam Minton and husband Stewart of Walters; 4 grandchildren, Kyla and Brayden Carroll of Glenpool, Keaston and Kaizer Gonzalez of Walters; 5 nieces and their husbands, Stephanie and Chad Simpson of Walters, Stacie and Randy Allen of Las Colinas, TX, Holly Fletcher of Walters, Andra and Brad Spurlock of Temple, Elizabeth and Kevin Burkham of Sweetwater, TX; numerous other relatives and many friends.
