Connie Louise Booher was born to Floyd Levi "Simp" and Etta Mae (Gilliam) Petty on December 21, 1929 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Broken Arrow, OK, on May 28, 2011 at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 7 days. Connie grew up on the farm west of Walters and graduated from Walters High School. She married Buddy McKinney and to the union 3 children were born. He preceded her in death in 1961 and she later married Alfred Booher in 1967. They made their home in Bakersfield, CA, for 11 years where she worked as a teacher's aid for five years. She and son Steve returned to Walters following Alfred's death in 1978. She was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Walters for many years. She enjoyed singing and spending time with her family. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Buddy McKinney; her second husband Alfred Booher; her father, Floyd "Simp" Petty; her mother Etta Mae Petty; and her sisters, Shirley Ann Petty and Margaret Lou White. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Boren and husband Dwain of Broken Arrow, OK;2 sons, Steve McKinney of Lawton, OK, and Alan McKinney and wife Elaine of Burkburnett, TX; a brother Donnie Petty and wife Bessie of Blanchard, OK; 7 grandchildren, April McKinney of Tulsa, OK, Doug McKinney and wife Florene of Walters, David McKinney and wife Crystal of Marlow, OK, Shane Boren and wife Laura, Dana Boren, all of Tahlequah, OK, Denver Boren of Broken Arrow, OK, Hunter Boren and wife Jen of Tulsa; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
