James Lee Fairl was born to Fredrick Henry and Evay Arena (Vestal) Fairl on November 21, 1950, at Ft. Worth, TX and departed this life in Temple, OK on May 21, 2011, at the age of 60 years and 6 months. James grew up mostly in Ft. Worth, Texas. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a tank mechanic among other duties in the U.S. Army. Through the years he made his home in Las Vegas, California, Ft. Worth and various other towns. While in good health, he was last employed at Halliburton in Duncan as a machine operator. He married Lela Harris on May 5, 1997 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home north of Duncan, OK, until moving to Temple. James enjoyed working on cars, going to swap meets and auctions, fishing and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his dad and an infant son, Michael Lee; and an infant brother, Marvin Eugene. Survivors include his mother, Evay Fairl of Springtown, TX; his wife, Lela Fairl of Temple, OK; his step-daughter, Sherry Snider of Temple; 3 brothers, Richard Fairl of Azle, TX, Kenneth Fairl of Lakeside, TX and Steve Fairl of Springtown, TX; 5 sisters, Carol Schoolcraft of Hillsboro, TX, Sandra Black and Ann Rogers both of Springtown, TX, Terri Hall of Port Neches, TX and Kathy Harris of Cox City, OK; 5 grandchildren, LaTosha Fica, Bradley Harris, Emmanuel Snider and Lois Snider; 4 great grandchildren, Autumn Davis, Hunter Fica, Derrick Fica and Landon Harris; other relatives and many friends.
