Helen Elizabeth (Noblitt) Dobbs passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Temple Manor Nursing Home after a long period of declining health. Born in Temple on December 14, 1920, she was the youngest daughter of Walter and Bessie (Davis) Noblitt. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Allen L. Dobbs, in 1996 and her second husband Rudolph "Rudy" Bowers in 2002. Helen grew up in the Temple area. She attended Temple Public Schools where she met her future husband. She spent many years with Allen, attending to farming operations south of Temple where they raised their four children. She also worked for 20 years for the Hagar Slack Company in Temple before retiring. After her retirement, she worked for a number of years for Head Start in Temple. After Allen died, Helen went back to school and obtained her high school GED in her late 70's, prior to marrying Rudy in 1998. She was an outstanding seamstress and enjoyed making clothing items for family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker and created many birthday and wedding cakes for the community. She always had many projects in progress around her home. Helen was an excellent care giver. She cared for husbands Allen, Rudy and her sister Virginia all who experienced long periods of declining health before their deaths. Helen is survived by son William David and wife Anita of Merrimack, NH, daughter Betty Jeanne Loftin and husband John of Munday, TX, and Son Robert Mac and wife Vicki of Temple. Her youngest son, James Allen, predeceased her in 1977. Helen leaves behind grandchildren, Phil, William Jr., Amy, Shane, Amanda, Bridgett, Jacinda and Joseph and their families including numerous great grand children and a great-great grand daughter.
