Billy Ray Penrod was born to Billy Joe and Dorothy Mae (Gates) Penrod on October 15, 1948 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Mineral Wells, TX on April 8, 2011, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 24 days. Billy served in the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone earning an honorable discharge with medals for sharpshooting. Through the years he worked as a mechanic, worked in the oilfield, did truck driving and hauled hay among other jobs in his lifetime to include transporting military supplies for KBR in Iraq. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Penrod; his elder brother, Dannie Joe Penrod and younger brother, Paul Richard Penrod; and oldest sister, Caren Kay Riddles. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Mae Penrod; brother , Terry Penrod; sister, Anna Spence all of Walters; his children, Christina Phillippi and husband Marvin of Webb City, MO, Martha Owens of Duncan, OK, Shawna Miller of Ryan, OK and Felicia Bolton of Mineral Wells, TX; 10 grandchildren, Kandas Helloms, Justin Phillippi, Kristofer Aaron, Jessica Phillippi, Derek Aaron, Sierra Phillippi, Raychel Roberts, David Roberts, Coplin Miller and Chevy O'Shield; 2 great grandchildren, Harleigh Loftis and Bladen Loftis; a multitude of other family members and friends.
