Imogene Poemoceah Mihecoby was born to Henry "Cornbread" and Lizzie (Nahquaddy) Poemoceah on March 6, 1932, at Lawton Indian Hospital and departed this life in Lawton, OK, on February 10, 2011. Imogene grew up near Cutty Bridge west of Walters, OK, attending Ahpeatone School. She married Wesley Mihecoby on January 9, 1951, at the Emerson Nazarene Church west of Walters. They made their home in the Walters area until moving to Andrews, TX, in 1963 where Wesley was employed for many years as a unit operator in the oilfield. They returned home to Walters in 1997. Imogene enjoyed playing basketball during her school years, was a seamstress, quilter and homemaker. She also enjoyed going to the Comanche Homecoming visiting with family and friends, as well as, going to the casino. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wesley in November 2007; her daughter, Lagatha Jean Sutherland; 2 brothers, Alfred and Elmer Poemoceah; 3 sisters, Ioleta Tahhahwah, Charlene Poemoceah and Velma Valdez. Survivors include 4 sons and their wives, Dean and Shirley Pahcheka of Cache, OK, Wesley and Rhysa Mihecoby of Midland, TX, Kelly and Kathy Mihecoby of Midland, TX, Sidney and Tanisha Mihecoby of Wichita, KS; 4 daughters and their husbands, Lawannah Saldana of Oklahoma City, Rejina and Roger Stewart of Walters, OK, Delisa Mihecoby and Leroy Glasgow of Lawton, OK, Reneé and Lance Parker of Andrews, TX; 2 sisters, Helen Goodeagle and Nancy Codynah both of Walters; 30 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
