Mary Ann Martinez

Mary Ann Martinez was born to Wilbur and Martha Virginia (Young) Red Elk in Riverside, California on June 7, 1958 and departed this life in Lawton, Oklahoma on January 9, 2011 at the age of 52 years, 7 months and 3 days. Mary grew up in Riverside, CA before moving to Walters, OK with her family. She graduated from Walters High School, Walters, OK in 1977 and married Robert Martinez Jr. on August 5, 1979 in Wichita Falls, TX. After they were married they made Walters their home. She enjoyed the outdoors, riding horses, shopping, playing basketball and football and watching TV. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Gene Ellis; a niece, Teresa Collins and a sister-in-law, Patty Bingman. Survivors include her husband, Robert Martinez Jr. of the home; 2 sons, Eric Martinez, of the home and Robert Lee Martinez of Alaska; a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia "Jenny" Martinez and Justin Penn of Walters; 4 brothers and their wives, Clifford Keith Red Elk and Kathy of Walters, Gary Lee Red Elk and Virginia of Kalispell, MT, Dewey Red Elk and Sonja of Lawton and Wilbur "Duke" Ellis and Janis of El Reno, OK; a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy Red Elk and Bill Cain of Walters; a grandson, Therrel Penn of Walters, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
