Billy Leon Bridges was born to Hugh Thomas and Ethel Mae (Jackson) Bridges on May 6, 1929 in Walters, Oklahoma and departed this life in Lawton, Oklahoma on December 21, 2010 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 15 days. Billy grew up in both Walters and Temple, OK and graduated from Temple High School in 1950. He was drafted in the Army during the Korean conflict then returned to Oklahoma. He married Patsy LaRue Martin on March 23, 1951 in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. He worked for Beatrice Foods for 35 years delivering milk then for Goodyear Tire until he retired. He was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed camping, sports and spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby Blair. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall "Randy" Leon Bridges and Debbie of Lawton; a daughter, Tonya Lynn Maruska of Sterling, OK; two sisters, Effie Clark and husband Delbert of Walters and Linda Hathaway and husband Larry of Walters; 5 grandchildren, Randall Leon Bridges Jr. and wife Marcy of Lawton, Kristin Bridges and fiancé Weldon Beyer of Lawton, Kyle Bridges of Lawton, Danyele Minton and husband Mike of Guymon, OK and Tiffani Shephard and husband Kyle of Lawton and many other relatives and friends.
