Herman Lee (H.L.) Davis was born to Leander Pontius and Lillie Mae (Lowrey) Davis on July 4, 1946 in Lamesa, Texas and departed this life in Duncan, Oklahoma on December 1, 2010 at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 27 days. H.L. grew up in the Comanche area where he graduated from in 1964. He was engaged in trucking for the past 40 years using the handle of "Gator", traveling across the lower 48 states. He married Dorothy Jean Briscoe on January 4, 1978 in Wichita Falls, TX. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading and the outdoors. He loved everything about his Semi-trucks and guns. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Walters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Davis, of the home; three sons, Bobby Clarence Brinkley and wife Jessica of Shaffer, Minnesota, Shane Leander Davis of the home and Chris Lee Davis and wife Casey of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter, Sherri Lynn Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, James H. Davis and wife Megan of Sterling, Virginia; two sisters, Freda Shackelford of Charlotte, North Carolina and Reda Johnson of Walters, OK; two grandsons, Robert Alan Brinkley and Austin Davis; a uncle, J.P. Lowery of Mt. Pleasant, TX and many other relatives and friends.
