Ramon Paul Vardell

Ramon Paul Vardell was born at Walters, OK, to Pleasant Pierce "P. P." and Mattie Arena "Irene" (South) Vardell on December 17, 1933, and departed this life November 26, 2010, in Plano, TX, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 9 days. Ramon grew up at Walters. While in high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country honorably for 20 plus years, retiring in 1974. He then went to work for the City of Walters Fire Department and Ambulance before moving to the Street Department where he retired as Superintendant after 20 years with the city. He married Belva Jo Mullins on October 6, 1956 at the Baptist parsonage in Temple, OK. To the union 3 children were born. Ramon was a Vietnam Veteran, serving 2 tours of duty. Through the years he loved quail and coon hunting, and training and working his dogs. He also enjoyed building trailers and old porch furniture. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walters. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, V.P. Vardell and 3 sisters, Charlotte Shively, Wanda Price and Vesta Pickett. Survivors include his wife Belva of the home; 2 sons and their wives, Kevin and Kayla Vardell of Grapevine, TX and Tim and Brenda Vardell of Justin, TX; a daughter and her husband, Monica and Donnie Chrismon of Cyril, OK; 3 brothers, Karol Vardell and wife Pat of Ojai, CA, Arvid Vardell of Apple Valley, CA and A.J. Vardell of Okmulgee, OK; a sister, Oneta Terry of Oceanside, CA; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Aaron and Brooke Evans of Comanche, OK, Aric and Jennifer Evans of Duncan, OK, Kristopher Vardell of Lubbock, TX, Kendall Vardell of Grapevine, TX, Savannah Vardell, Amanda Vardell and Cody Vardell all of Justin, TX , Dustin and Missy Chrismon and family of Elgin, OK, Cole and Kalyn Chrismon and family of Anadarko, OK, Jennifer and Matt Sanders and family of Gracemont, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Bryson Evans, Rylie Evans and Adelyn Evans; other relatives and many friends.
