Guerry Wayne Thompson was born to Gene and Nina (James) Thompson on June 16, 1953, at Wichita Falls, TX and departed this life in Temple, OK on November 18, 2010, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 2 days. Guerry grew up at Temple, graduating in the Class of 1971. He married Pam Henning on July 17, 1975, at Temple. He started his 30 plus year career in the oilfield in the late 1970's, working for Gulf, Chevron, and Calumet, now known as Chaparral Energy Inc. He began working out of Healdton, OK, in 1986 and moved the family to Fox from 1987 to 2002 when they returned to Temple. He was an avid OU and Temple Tiger sports fan. He enjoyed farming, fishing and feeding his catfish. He also loved spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Nina Thompson and his step-mother, Pat Thompson. Survivors include his wife Pam, of the home; 2 sons of Temple, OK, Eric Brandon and Dillon Thompson and girl friend Ali Williams; a daughter, Lori Wilburn and husband David of Grand Prairie, TX; 4 brothers and their wives, Larry and Carol Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX, Jerry and Susie Thompson of Walters, Harold Thompson of Hastings, Joe and Danna Thompson of Temple; 2 grandchildren, Kolton and Cooper Wilburn; other relatives and many friends.
