Sophronia Elaine (Shelton) Hargis was born to James Henry and Mary Ellen (Anglin) Shelton on April 29, 1938, at Willis, OK and departed this life in Burkburnett, TX on September 1, 2010, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 3 days. Elaine grew up at Loveland, Colorado. She married Charles Harrison Campbell in 1952 at Raton, NM. Through the years they made their home in Colorado and Oklahoma. Elaine eventually settled down in Burkburnett, TX, where she has made her home for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Burkburnett, TX. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and going to church. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings and music. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a brother; 5 sisters; a granddaughter and a great granddaughter. Survivors include 3 daughters, Sandra Bray of Temple, OK, Rose Marie Michael and husband James Aubrey of Burkburnett, TX, Mary Evelyn Rorabaw and husband Mark of Wichita Falls, TX; 2 brothers, Rex Charles Campbell and wife Sheryl of Duncan, and Thomas Dean Campbell of Wichita Falls, TX; a brother Haskell Shelton and wife Shirley of Ennis, OK; a sister, Zella Newby of Walters, OK; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a longtime family friend, Lefty Riddles; other relatives and many friends.
