Dora Esther Milwood was born to John Presley and Mary Alice (Thompson) Turner near Burkburnett, Texas on October 13, 1927 and departed this life in Walters, Oklahoma on July 26, 2010 at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 13 days. Dora grew up near Burkburnett, TX before moving to Walters where she was the Valedictorian of the class of "45". She attended Draughon's Business College before marrying Richard Allen on September 8, 1946 in Walters, OK. He passed away in July of 1963. She worked in various offices within the Cotton Co. Courthouse for 25 yrs before going to work for Principal Financial in Oklahoma City. She worked there for 16 yrs before she became an Insurance Agent for Principal Financial. She moved back to Walters in 1993 and married Larry Milwood on November 23, 1996 in Walters and he passed away in February of 2007. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Walters, the WMU secretary, Walters Senior Citizens Center, Walters Alumni Association, Order of the Eastern Star and the secretary and treasurer for the American Legion Auxiliary in Walters. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Richard Allen and Larry Milwood; two sons, Robert Eric Allen and Stephen Eric Allen; a brother, Samuel Turner; and a sister Barbara Webb. Survivors include two daughters and husbands, Lana and Jay Hilton of Lewisville, TX and Roberta and Terry Goodwin of Flower Mound, TX; a daughter-in-law, Janie Allen of Stephenville, TX; two step children and spouses, Sharon and Larry Dickinson of Fairfax, CA and Paul Milwood and Debra of Whitehouse, TX; two sisters, Vivian Barbe and Sammie Briley; five grandchildren, Leslie and husband Geoffrey Lewis, Amy and husband Michael Lauder, Dr. Mark Coker and wife Stephanie, Casey Allen and Kirby Allen; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Avah, Katherine, Wes, Lyric, Jocelyn and Grady and many other relatives and friends.
