Barbara Diane Burk Dye was born to Larry Don and Barbara Ann (Miller) Burk on September 16, 1969, at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Elgin, OK, on July 19, 2010 at the age of 40 years, 10 months and 3 days. Diane grew up at Geronimo, graduating in the Class of 1987. She married Raymond Lee Dye on September 5, 1986 at Geronimo and to the union 2 children, Dustin and Morgan, were born. They made their home at Geronimo and she received her Bachelor's Degree from Cameron University in 1991. They built a house in the Marlow Central area where the family lived for 3 years until building the current house west of Elgin. Diane began her teaching career at Boone-Apache and was later hired by Elgin Schools in 1999. She taught in the elementary and middle school, and had coached basketball, softball and golf. She was co-owner of Sooner Plaza and Pride Fitness where she was a personal trainer. She loved horses, dogs and animals in general. She loved watching her daughter play basketball and was a big supporter of Elgin Athletics. She enjoyed being Khloe's mema and being with family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Elgin. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clay and Minnie Miller, Lois and Neal Burk. Survivors include her parents, Larry and Barbara Burk of Lawton, OK; her son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Adriana Dye of Elgin; her daughter, Morgan Dye also of Elgin; her granddaughter, Khloe Dye of Elgin: 2 brothers and their wives, Dewayne and Tiffani Burk of Lawton, Jeremy and Trisha Burk of Keller, TX; a nephew and 2 nieces, Logan, Makenzie and Madison Burk all of Lawton; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
