Joan Delores (Robertson) Luke was born to Milton Otis "M.O." and Thelma (Rone) Robertson on December 15, 1937, south of Lawton, OK and departed this life in Norman, OK, on July 5, 2010, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 20 days. Joan grew up at Walters, graduating salutatorian of the Class of 1955. At a young age she became a student of music and eventually an accomplished pianist. In her early twenties Joan began teaching piano and guitar, a career that spanned 50 years until her retirement in 2008. Through the years she enjoyed weekend trips to the lake with the family, and also making music with family and friends in Wichita Falls. She married Robert Luke on November 30, 2002, at Walters, OK and they have been inseparable. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walters. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and 4 sisters. Survivors include her husband, Robert, of the home; 2 sons, Joe Hall of Lawton, OK, Barry Hall and wife Brenda of Claremore, OK; a daughter, Paula Herzfeld and husband Charles of Wichita Falls, TX; Robert's children, Chuck and Shannon Luke of Cucamonga, GA, Keith and Beverly Luke of Greenville, TX, and Kathy Collins of Dallas, TX; a sister, Oma Gay Dudley of Wichita Falls, TX; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
