Henry Cecil McGee

July 16, 1915 — April 24, 2010

Henry Cecil McGee was born to George Lester "Les" and Meta Kathleen (Chambers) McGee on July 16, 1915, in rural Temple, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK, on April 24, 2010 at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 8 days. Cecil grew up in the Gregg Community northeast of Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1934. He married Jessie Mae Scott in October of 1940 and to the union 4 children were born. He later married Gladys Tollett at Walters and she preceded him in death in 2002. Cecil was employed at the Farmers Elevator for 29 years and was also engaged in farming and ranching until 2008. Through the years he enjoyed going dancing, hunting deer, fishing, watching sports and checking his cattle. He was prededed in death by his parents, a sister Erpha Knapp and his wife Gladys. Survivors include 3 sons, Charles McGee of Hennepin, OK, Ray McGee and wife Linda of Tulsa, OK, H.C. McGee and wife Marilea of Grandfield, OK; a daughter Ruth Monaco and husband Bobby of Old Medford, NY; 3 brothers, Louis, Jack and Don McGee all of Temple, OK; 2 sisters, Noma Jennings of Lawton, OK and Lois James of Temple; 5 grandchildren, Tammie Monaco, Jessica Stewart and husband Chris, Lynette Adams and husband Jarred, Lonnie McGee and Joe Ray McGee; 2 great grandson, Bradley and Travis Stewart; other relatives and many friends.
