The Dorton Family request that everyone wear Red and White to the Funeral service, in honor of Elwanda's love for Big Pasture Schools. Elwanda Gayle (Beeson) Dorton was born to Ennis Melvin and June Louise (Kindred) Beeson on April 5, 1951 at Lawton, OK and departed this life at Randlett, OK on April 6, 2010. Elwanda grew up at Cache, OK, graduating in 1969. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Cameron University in 1973 and began teaching 3rd grade at Big Pasture Elementary. She continued teaching 3rd grade until retiring with 31 years. She married Johnny Glenn Dorton on October 31, 1974, at Burkburnett, TX. Through the years they enjoyed going to the lake and camping every weekend, and they also enjoyed going on trips just driving around site seeing. Growing up she attended the Assembly of God in Cache and later attended Union Valley Baptist Church. Elwanda loved golfing, photography, was an avid sports fan, keeping the basketball score books for many years, and was known to be the first to open the school and the last to leave each day. She was preceded in death by her dad, Ennis Beeson. Survivors include her mother, Louise Beeson of Cache, OK; her husband Johnny of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Scott Laminack of Randlett; 3 brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and Bruce Beeson all of Cache; a sister Kerry Sue John of Cache; 2 granddaughters, McKenna and Katelyn Laminack of Randlett; many close nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
