Betty Jo (Dunnagan) Douglass was born to Lloyd Leonard and Gladys (Fanning) Dunnagan on September 19, 1931 and departed this life in Temple, OK on April 3, 2010, at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 15 days. Betty grew up in the Devol/Randlett, Oklahoma area. She married Cecil Swinney and to the union a daughter, Joyce and a son, Stephen, were born. Betty made her home in Burkburnett, Texas, until moving to Temple, Oklahoma, around 1960. She married Howard Douglass in 1962 and to this union 2 sons, Sammy and Chuck were born. Through the years Betty enjoyed having a yard full of kids, writing poetry, keeping a journal, playing games and cooking full meals for whoever might show up. She also loved spending time with her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard in 1995; 3 sons, Stephen Swinney in 1976, Chuck Douglass in 1998 and Sammy Douglass in 2000; a sister, Louellen Pirtle; and a brother, Lloyd "Junior" Dunagan. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mike Leaf of Temple, OK; 5 grandchildren, John Dale Brown, Chad Brown and wife Shelly all of Doddridge, AR, Stephen Leaf and wife Lacy of Comanche, OK, Stephanie Baker of Midwest City, OK and Hannah Douglass of Wichita Falls, TX; 5 great grandchildren, Cody, Connor and Cooper Brown, Brooklyn and Taylor Baker; a sister-in-law, Carol Dunagan of Temple; other relatives and many friends.
