Kathy Thacker, 55, of Edmond, OK Memorial services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Tuesday, March 16, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10016 or online to www.ccfa.org Mary Kathleen "Kathy" (Ferguson) Thacker was born to Glenn Harold and Tommie Lou (Cotner) Ferguson on January 21, 1955 and departed this life in the Oklahoma City, on March 12, 2010, at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 19 days. Kathy grew up at Walters, OK, graduating in the class of 1973. She married Steve Thacker on June 8, 1973, at Walters. They made their home at Waxahachie, TX, from 1974 to 1976 where she worked as a teacher's aid, then back to Walters until moving to Ponca City, OK, in 1978. There she worked as a dental assistant/insurance specialist until her health became prohibitive. They moved to Farmington, NM, in 1991 and Steve eventually took a job with Baker Hughes in 1997 that soon transferred them back to Edmond, OK, in 1998 where they have lived since that time. Kathy was a Christian and member of several Baptist churches through the years. She enjoyed playing with the grandkids, spending time with her dog Bailey, collecting bears, doing crafts, scrapbooking, making cards and blankets. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Betty Jo Thacker; and her step-mother, Vadie Varner Ferguson. Survivors include her husband, Steve, of the home; 2 sons, Todd Thacker and wife Erica of Nixa, MO, and Kyle Thacker of Oklahoma City; 2 grandsons, Cole and Beau Thacker of Nixa, MO; a sister, Teresa Sandlin and husband Bob of Mustang, OK; 2 brothers, Gary Ferguson and wife Vicki of Duncan, OK and Steve Ferguson and wife Willie of Oklahoma City; a step-sister, Linda Stewart of Walters; her in-laws, James and Mary Thacker of Walters; other relatives and many friends.
