Bertha Mae (Welden) Williams was born to Charlie Lowell and Vera Mae (Fletcher) Welden on January 6, 1923, east of Walters, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX, on March 1, 2010, at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 23 days. Bertha grew up in the Walters area, graduating from WHS in 1941. She married Lloyd A. "Jack" Williams, Jr. on October 5, 1941 at Walters. To the union a son, Jackie C. Williams, was born. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Bertha enjoyed music, playing games and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple, OK and was previously a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Walters where she was active with the WMU and the church choir. Through the years she had also been a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Cheerful Workers Club and the McDowell Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jack, on March 16, 1987. Survivors include her son, Jackie C. Williams of Wichita Falls, TX; 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Joyce and Johnie Levell of Wichita Falls, TX, Charla and David Skinner of Duncan, OK; 8 great grandchildren, Lora Beth, Josiah William, Audrey Mae and Andrew Clifford Levell all of Wichita Falls, Brooklyn Reece, Hannah Grace, Kami Bree and Noah David Skinner all of Duncan; other relatives and many friends.
