Edith M. "Dee Dee" (Head) Norman was born to Rev. John S. and Laura O. (Gallaway) Head on January 16, 1920, in Durant, OK and departed this life at Warner, OK on February 21, 2010, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 5 days. Edith grew up in Temple, OK, where she attended school. She married Floyd Norman on August 7, 1937 at Lawton, OK. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm at Temple until retirement in 1987. They then made their home in Walters to be closer to the grandkids, but eventually moved to Oktaha, OK, in 2005 to reside with their daughter. She loved to read and travel in their motor home. She also loved animals and children, but the majority of her time was devoted to her family. She was extremely proud to tell everyone about their 5 generations. She was a caregiver to anyone in need and a devoted disciple for Christ, teaching Sunday School at the Baptist Church for 50 years. Her passion to minister the word of God continued until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Dorothy Collier and Ruth Head;a brother, Johnny Head; and a granddaughter, Gerri Yarbor. Survivors include the love of her life, Floyd, her husband of 73 years; her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Jerry Gilliss; 4 grandchildren, Kathy and Ronnie Ables, Kenny and Debbie Meyer, Tommy Meyer and Amanda Gilliss; 3 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren;a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Audine Norman, a sister-in-law, Nadine Booher;4 nieces, 2 nephews and many special friends.
