J.T. Stauffer was born to John and Veda Stauffer southeast of Elgin, Oklahoma on April 9, 1932 and departed this life in Olathe, Kansas on February 9, 2010 at the age of 77 years and 10 months. JT grew up in the Elgin, OK area and graduated from Elgin High School. He married Loretta Sue Harris on May 20. 1951 in Elgin, and to this union three children were born, Cindy Irene, Patricia Denise and Joel Todd. They lived in West Texas for 12 years before moving to Walters, OK in 1970. JT worked for Cotton Electric as a Journeyman Underground Tech. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Walters, a 32nd degree Mason of the Cache Valley Lodge #530, a past Worshipful Master of Lodge #530, a middle Chamber Lecture of the Blue Lodge, received his 50 year pin in March 2003, a 50th degree Mason of the Oklahoma Grand Lodge of Guthrie, OK, received his K.C.C.H., a member of the India Shriners of Oklahoma City and a member of the Lawton Klowns. JT enjoyed bird watching, traveling with the Shriners, wood working needlepoint, latch hook and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Sue (Harris) Stauffer on February 4, 2009; two sisters, Elizabeth Provine and Nettie Lee Stauffer; and two brothers, David Stauffer and George Stauffer. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy and husband Jackey Glenn of Walters, Oklahoma, and Denise Oliver and Companion Vickie Berg of Olathe, Kansas; a son, Joel Stauffer of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Eric Glenn, Stephanie Ray, Chad Oliver and Megean Stauffer; 5 great grandchildren, Garrett, Abbie, Kalie, Cooper and Bailey Rose; many other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
