Glenda Kaye (Glasgow) Thurman was born to Robert Ross and Nellie Mae (Robinson) Glasgow on July 3, 1943, at Temple, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK, on January 16, 2010, at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 13 days. Glenda grew up at Temple, graduating from Temple High School in 1961. She married Carl Edward Thurman on November 22, 1962 at Temple where they made their home until moving to Duncan in the mid 60's. She was employed as a cashier for Gibsons in Duncan for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed line dancing, shuffleboard, watching Gaither videos and traveling with Carl. She was known to be an avid sports fan, especially OU football and basketball. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl on April 30, 2003; her parents; 2 brothers, Dale and Lindel Glasgow; 3 sisters, Elsie Faye Leadell, Leta Mae Thompson and JoEllen Lawler. Survivors include her son Cliff Thurman and wife Dawn of Edmond, OK; her daughter Stephanie Howell and husband Monty of Duncan, OK; 4 sisters, Evelyne Heath of Deming, NM, Geraldine Cole and husband Johnie of Temple, OK, Peggy Joyce Wall and husband T.C. of Plainview, TX, Gale Morris and Ernest of Walters, OK; 9 grandchildren, Cory and Courtney Howell of Duncan, Jessica, Tyler, Chelsea, Trey, Emily, Travis, and Olivia Thurman all of Edmond; Many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
