Vadie Lucinda Varner Ferguson was born to Levi Nathan and Mini Ellen Brown Stewart in Randlett, Oklahoma on April 4, 1915 and departed this life in Duncan, Oklahoma on January 16, 2010 at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 12 days. Vadie grew up in Randlett before getting married to Clifford "Pete" Varner on July 8, 1934 and he passed away on November 11, 1975 after 41 years of marriage. She later married Glenn Ferguson on November 29, 1980 and he passed away on March 25, 2005. She taught school in the Emerson, Essquanahdale, Irving, Union Valley and Hulen Communities before teaching and retiring from Walters Public Schools. She received her Bachelors degree from Central State Collage. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marlow, McDowell's Music Club, Lady's Auxillary, United Methodist Women, OEN, NEA, Retired Teachers Association, Good Sam's and Square Dancing Organizations. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; a daughter, June Karen Varner; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Ferguson and her husband Gary of Duncan, and Linda Krae Stewart of Walters; four grandchildren and their spouses, Regina and Wayne Phillips of Richardson, TX, Trent Ferguson and Christi of Norman, OK, Stacy and Darrell and Darrell of Republic, MO and J-Lynn and Garvin Lee West of Geronimo, OK; seven great-grandchildren, Jillian Latimer, Whitnee West, Tripp West, Hailee DeSpain, Tanner Phillips, Abbie Ferguson and Gabe Ferguson; three step-children, Teresa and husband Bob Sandlin of Mustang, OK, Steve Ferguson and Willie of Oklahoma City and Kathy and Steve Thacker of Edmond, OK; 5 step-grandchildren 11 step-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
