Norma Jean (Kittrell) Hooper was born to Artis Roston "Tiny" and Gladys Marie Kittrell on July 17, 1924, in Dewar, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK, on December 11, 2009, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 24 days. Norma grew up at Dewar, Oklahoma, graduating from Dewar High School in 1941. She married Fred Leroy Hooper on November 3, 1924, at Dewar. They made their home in California for a time before settling in Walters, Oklahoma, in December of 1949. She was employed at B&C Grocers and later at Cotton Electric working in the billing department. Norma was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also a longtime member and past president of the BPO Does. Through the years she enjoyed arts and crafts, bowling, traveling and visiting family in California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, a son Mike Hooper and a great granddaughter Kayla Hooper. Survivors include, 2 sons and their spouses, Gregg and Michelle Hooper of Walters, OK, Clint and Sherry Hooper of Wichita Falls, TX; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Hooper of Wichita Falls; a brother, Charles Kittrell and wife Evelyn of Bodfish, CA; a sister, Pat Taliaferro and husband Jimmy of Hollister, CA; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Becky Hooper, Michelle and Ryan Doody, Sherry Denney, Nik Hooper, Drew and Jenna Hooper, and Brittany Hooper; 8 great grandchildren, Christopher Hooper, Dakota, Kaden and Haley Denney, Alex and MacKenzey Hooper, Seth and Taylor Doody; other relatives and many friends.
