Betty Lou (Larson) Glasgow was born to Leonard Emmit and Annie Alberta (McCarley) Larson on June 22, 1926, at Brownsville, TX and departed this life in Duncan, OK, on November 20, 2009 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 29 days. Betty grew up at Walters, Oklahoma. She married Alford Martin in December of 1943 and they made their home at Walters. To the union 3 children were born. She later married Clovis Leon Glasgow on July 3, 1952, at Lovington, NM. To this union 5 children were born. The family made their home in the Texas/Oklahoma panhandle area. While in Guymon, OK, Betty was employed at TG&Y for several years. They eventually moved back to Walters in 1975 and she worked in the school cafeteria and also at the Walters Nutrition Center. Betty was a Member of the Church of the Nazarene in Walters. She had served as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, watching football and wrestling, quilting, sewing and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and loved her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon, on August 31, 1984; 2 sons, Larry and Ronnie Glasgow; 2 brothers, L.E. Larson, Jr. and Arley Dean Larson; and an infant sister, Belva Lee Larson. Survivors include a son A.C. Martin and wife Chris of Wichita Falls, TX; 5 daughters, Beverly Lapel of Oklahoma City, OK, Gail Pierce and husband Terry of Odessa, TX, Janet Stevens and husband Dale of Wheeler, TX, Nancy Philpott of Duncan, OK, Cathy Lane and husband Robert also of Duncan; a sister Raevella Pyle of Guymon, OK; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
