Rosie Mae Harris was born to Luther and Zena Scott Jackson in the Elm Grove area near Walters, Oklahoma on May 19, 1918 and departed this life in Temple, Oklahoma on October 14, 2009 at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 25 days. Rosie grew up and attended school in the Elm Grove area. She married Richard L. Harris Sr. on May 31, 1936 in Walters, OK. He preceded her in death in 2006. She spent her adult life as a homemaker. She enjoyed making jellies, jams and relishes, but more then making them she enjoyed to give them away to her family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing, going to south Texas for the winter and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers; Douglas and Hubert Jackson, a son; George "Fat" Harris and a daughter-in-law; Carol Harris. Survivors include two sons; Richard Lee Harris Jr. of Walters, OK and his companion Mary Bash of Norman, OK, and Jerry and Norma Harris of Wichita Falls, TX, a daughter; Rose Mary and Dave Jaspers of Hot Springs Village, AR, seven grandchildren; Jimmie and Rhonda Harris of Lawton, OK, Donna Rylant of Stillwater, OK, Mark Harris of Alvarado, TX, Scott Harris of Walters, Chris and Dani Harris of Wichita Falls, TX, Karen and Michael Fisk of Knob Noster, MO, and Phil and Shelley Cobb of Whitesboro, TX, ten great-grandchildren; Alex Harris of Lawton, Sky and Christa Rylant of Edmond, OK, Jenna and Daxton Sinclair of Oklahoma City, Marshall and Jordan Harris of Wichita Falls, Jade Horn of Wichita Falls, Shane and Micaela Fisk of Knob Noster, and Cayden and Cortlyn Cobb of Whitesboro, a great-great grandchild; Emma Kate Rylant of Edmond, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Roy and Helen Jackson of Wichita Falls and Howard and Marilyn Jackson of Burleson, TX and many other relatives and friends.
