Robert Charles Calfy was born to Robert Edward and Ella Fern (Hales) Calfy on January 3, 1952, at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton, on August 30, 2009, at the age of 57 years, 7 months and 27 days. Robert grew up at Walters, graduating in the class of 1970. After high school he worked at Cotton Electric Coop for 2 years and also served his country as a Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves. Robert has made his home in Temple and Lawton, moving to Altus in 1992 where he lived until 2007 when he moved back to Lawton. Through the years he participated in the Special Olympics in Stillwater, OK and had worked at an animal shelter. He enjoyed riding around looking at the cattle. He was preceded by his parents Bob and Fern Calfy and his sister, Susan Franklin. Survivors include a brother, Ed Calfy and wife Pattie of Walters; a sister, Louise Ward and husband Frank of Walters; 7 nieces and nephews, Kevin Calfy of Tulsa, OK, Jason Hancock and wife Melessa of Walters, Cayla Wrape and husband Kent of Walters, Jodi Eschiti-Breeden of Lawton, Jennifer Shefield and husband Stacy of Concord, CA, Dana Hilbert and husband Scot of Walters, and Robert Sparks of Walters; great nieces and nephews, Tarah, Jordan and Canaan Hancock of Savannah, GA, Hunter and Jase Hancock of Walters, Colton and Gus Wrape of Walters, Drew and James Lopez of Lawton, Chloe and Lainee Shefield of Concord, CA, Ryanne Hilbert of Nashville, TN, Cale Hilbert of Walters and Christopher Sparks Otitivo of Walters; other relatives and many friends.
