Delores Joan Hawkins was born to William "Bill" Alexander and Alice (Rule) Trest in the Emerson Community west of Walters, Oklahoma on June 26, 1932 and departed this life in Lawton, Oklahoma on July12, 2009 at the age of 77 years and 15 days. Delores grew up in the Emerson Community until moving to Lawton with her family. She married Johnny Hawkins in Lawton on December 22, 1947. They made their home in Norman for many years until moving to Eufaula for 10 years then retiring to Walters is the mid 1990's. Delores worked at Hobby Lobby in Lawton for a time. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Walters, and enjoyed shopping and fishing for crappie at Eufaula. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Debra, and 6 brothers and sisters, Lillian Roberson, Pauline Davis, Maxine Neill, Wyatt Trest, Ross Trest and Alfred Trest. She is survived by her husband Johnny Hawkins of the home; a son Johnny Hawkins Jr. of Salem, OR; a granddaughter, Desera Dicketts of Farmington, IL; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
