Billie Genelle (Gower) Worsham was born to Daniel Houston and Margaret Ruth (Smith) Gower in Temple, Oklahoma on November 5, 1919 and departed this life in Ryan, Oklahoma on June 11, 2009 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 6 days. Billie grew up in the Gregg community and attended Gregg School before graduating from Temple High School in 1938. She attended Oklahoma A&M before getting married to Omar Worsham on January 20, 1939 in Walters, OK, he passed away in 2001. While following him to Navel bases during WWII she worked at a torpedo factory in Rhode Island and then for a Bean Factory in San Diego. After the War they moved to Temple and she worked at Haggar Slack Factory as an Inspector. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Rebecca Irene Worsham Bennett, a son Carl Gower, three brothers; Glen Gower, Ray Gower and Thad Gower and 5 sisters; Irene Gower, Marie Murrell, Rita Cox, Lillian Goodwin and Neva Mae Bowers. Survivors include a brother John Gower in Ponca City, OK, a granddaughter, Melinda Haggerty of McKinney, TX, two great-grandchildren Chandler Lingle and Delilah Sweney and many other relatives and friends.
