Loretta Ethel Ballard

Loretta Ethel Ballard was born to Joseph Theodore and Mary Ethel (Childers) Geyer in Newalla, OK on September 1, 1924 and departed this life in Lawton, OK on May 26, 2009 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 25 days. Loretta attended school in Bethel, OK. She married Kenneth Eugene (K.E.) Ballard on October 5, 1940 in Shawnee, OK and they made their home in Walters where K.E. worked in the oil fields and Loretta raised their children and helped him farm and ranch. She took jobs from time to time at Ft. Sill, Temple Manufacturing and as a home health aide. After K.E.'s death in 1987 she concentrated on managing her farm, cattle and other properties. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Donald Jo Ballard; 2 grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Ballard and Cody Ballard; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Stover and Faye Phillips; 3 brothers, Nelson Geyer, Jerry Geyer and Billy Joe Geyer. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (Gene) Eugene Ballard and wife Avanelle, Robert (Bob) Ballard and wife Jo and Chuck Ballard and wife Rita all of Walters; 2 daughters, Mary Higgins and Sharon Ballard both of Walters; 2 brothers, Ted Geyer and wife Donna of Wanette, OK and Eldon Geyer of Walters; 13 grandchildren, Gary D. Price, Karen Price, Scott Higgins, Kirk Higgins, Grant Ballard, Daniel Taylor, Andrea Ballard, James Taylor, Grady Ballard, Jennifer Herr, Austin Ballard, Amanda Ballard and Dustin Ballard; 19 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dalton, Kenneth, Chase, Christopher, Tanner, Joshua, Jacob, Jesi, Ryan, Payton, Mallory, Hayley, Shooter, Kaylee, Katelyn, Tylar, Jaya, Indali and many other relatives and friends.
