Archie Gordon Doake was born to George Washington and Alice Myrtle (Perryman) Doake in Wilson, OK on December 16, 1929 and departed this life in Lawton, OK on April 24, 2009 at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 8 days. Archie grew up in and attended school in the Ahpeatone area. While attending school he was a farm hand until being drafted to serve in the Army during WWII. Upon separation from the service began working as a plumber. He married Juanita Faye Brown on March 5, 1955 in Duncan, OK, and made their home in Duncan. Archie retired in 1993 after more than 40 years in the plumbing business. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Walters. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows. He was active with the FFA livestock shows when his grandchildren were showing their hogs and cattle. He enjoyed fishing and working with fireworks for 3-D fireworks. He was preceded in death by his wife Faye Doake; his Parents; twin sons Archie Gordon Jr. and George Washington Doake; three brothers George, Leroy and Garland Doake; and two sisters, Dorothy Griffin and Iva Dunn. Survivors include a son, Russell Gordon Doake and Joan of Walters; four daughters, Carolyn and Bill Johnson of Walters, Debbie and Randy Bridges of Lawton, Kim and Dale Renfro of Duncan and Gina and James Canfield of Duncan; two sisters Virgie Young of Temple, OK and Lavern Williams of Tulsa; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
