Delbert Holsted Toquothty was born to Robert and Mary Magdalene (Kosechata) Toquothty on June 9, 1938, south of Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters, on March 1, 2009, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 20 days. Delbert grew up south of Walters attending Temple Public Schools, graduating from THS in the class of 1957. He served his country through the Oklahoma National Guard for three years and eventually pursued an education in electronics at DeVry Technical Institute at Chicago in the mid 1960's. He married Frankie (Sylvester) Mowatt on March 29, 1968, at Lawton, OK and have made their home Walters since that time. Through the years Delbert has worked as an electronics technician for Midwest Furniture, Home Decor and Ralph Helf all in Lawton and had his own shop, Delbert's T.V. in Walters. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Walters where he was head of audio/visual and recorded all church services for many years and had previously been a member of the church choir. He had been active in the community as a member of the Walters Rotary Club and also filmed the Miss Walters Pageant for a few years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Joshua Ryan Clay Mowatt; 3 brothers, LaVern, Dennis and Lee Toquothty; and a sister, Roberta Jean Wright. Survivors include his wife, Frankie, of the home; 2 sons, Robert Arnold Toquothty and wife Elizabeth of Grandfield, OK and Daniel Wayne Toquothty of California; 3 daughters and their husbands, Lynette and Gale Vandeventer of Edmond, Denise and Daryl Ping of Claremore, OK, Cherice and B.J. Rayford of Walters; 2 sisters, Danielle Devault of Waco, TX and Melva Knox of Dallas, TX; a brother, Arnold Toquothty of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher Vandeventer, Jami, Heather and Kesha Ping, Kelcie and C.J. Rayford , Seya and Angel Montoya, Gabriella Toquothty and Robert Toquothty, Jr. (Bubba); other relatives and many friends.
