Loretta Sue Stauffer was born to Fred Byron and Addie Alene (Person) Harris in Longview, TX on March 12, 1933 and departed this life in Olathe, KS, on February 4, 2009 at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 23 days. Sue went to school in Walters, OK from 1st- 10th grades then moved and finished school in Elgin, OK. While there, she was president of the F.H.A., a cheerleader and the Senior Queen. She married J.T. Stauffer on May 20, 1951 in Elgin and to the union three children were born, Cindy Irene, Patricia Denise and Joel Todd. They lived in West Texas for 12 years before moving to Walters in 1970. Sue worked for the Cotton County Health Department, retiring after 28 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Walters. She was an avid doll maker and also enjoyed many other crafts. She had also been a member of the Walters lion's club. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Kathryn Uselton and Irene Duhon. Survivors include her husband J.T. Stauffer of Walters; 2 daughters, Cindy and husband Jackey Glenn of Walters and Denise Oliver and companion Vickie of Olathe, KS; a son, Joel Stauffer of Tulsa, OK; a brother, Fred Harris and wife Margaret of Albuquerque, NM; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Eric Glenn, Stephanie Ray and Chad Oliver, and Megean Stauffer; 5 great grandchildren, Garrett, Abbie, Kalie, Cooper, Bailey Rose; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
