Billy J. Kidd was born to Earl T. Kidd and Minnie Mae Youngblood Kidd on September 3, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma and departed this life to his heavenly home on January 8, 2021 at Oklahoma Veterans Center, Ardmore OK. at the age of 91 years, 4 months, 5 days.
Bill grew up in Walters, OK and graduated from Walters High School in 1947. He joined the army in August, 1947 and served in the Korean War. He received a Combat Infantry Badge; Korean Service Medal; 1 Battle Star; Army Occupation Medal (Japan); and a U.N. Service Medal.
Then August, 1950, Bill returned to Walters OK and married his high school
sweetheart on November 15, 1950 in Walters, Ok. He worked at the Sun Oil Refinery in Meridian for 28 years until its closing. He enjoyed raising and selling pure bred hogs, and was a lifelong fisherman. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill attended Beaver Creek Cowboy Church in Duncan, OK.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents Earl and Minnie Kidd, and his three brothers R.J., Gilbert and P.O.
Survivors include 2 sons, Billy Kidd and wife Sue Ann of Addington, OK, and Jimmy Kidd of Duncan, OK; 3 grandchildren, Joe Kidd, Chris Kidd and wife Lindsey, Aaron Kidd and wife Lori Ann; 5 great grandchildren, Sydney, Sage, Kasey, Linney and Autry; a brother-in-law, Gail Varner and wife Sylvia of Walters; other relatives and many friends.
