Charles Harold Anderson departed this life in Temple, OK on February 24, 2025. He was born on July 15,1938, in the family home west of Ryan, OK, to F.D. "Bud" Anderson and Helen Gertrude (Kafer) Anderson. His mother would remind us that the only medication she received at his birth was an aspirin. Charles graduated from Ryan High School, Ryan OK in 1957. He joined the US Marine Corps that summer, serving two years at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, CA. Charles attained the rank of Corporal, then served four years of inactive duty. While in the Marine Corps he was a member of the Marine football team, playing both offense and defense.

In 1959 he tried out and made the football team at Southeastern State College in Durant on a football scholarship. There he met Teena Blackburn, a freshman. After a semester he decided he had played all the football he wanted. Because he and Teena planned to marry, he applied and was accepted to go to work for Cotton Electric Cooperative in Walters. He worked there for 36 years before retiring in 1996 as a foreman in the transformer shop.

Charles and Teena were married in a private family ceremony on a Sunday morning before church services June 4, 1961 at First Baptist Church, Walters by Bro. Melvin Moody, pastor. Charles held several offices in church through the years. He was ordained a deacon in 1992. He served faithfully until his health forced him to resign. He and Teena enjoyed visiting and helping others whenever they could. Charles' Christian family shaped his life as they attended church at Ryan First Baptist Church. He was saved at the age of nine on March 21, 1948 at the First Baptist Church, Ryan OK. He has never wavered in his faith in Jesus Christ all these years.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Teena, of the home, sister Marie and husband Bill Mills of Edmond OK, sister Margaret Anderson of Sulphur, OK, son Harold Anderson and wife Kristi of Lawton, son John Anderson and wife Eugenia of Walters. Grandchildren are: Krystal Stores and husband Justin of Lawton OK, Dalas Anderson and wife Cindy of Walters, Dakota Anderson of Dallas, Texas.
