Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, Dr. Tony Nickel officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Interment at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, OK.
Cheryl Lynn (Veltema) Logan was born to Albert Lee “Buddy” and Mary Jane (White) Veltema on April 15, 1960 in Anadarko, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on December 7, 2021 at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Cheryl grew up at Anadarko into middle school and the family then moved to Walters where she finished middle school through high school, graduating from WHS in 1978. She married Wade Logan on January 3, 1981 and to the union 2 children were born. She went on to receive her bachelor degree at Cameron University.
After several years in Colorado, Cheryl returned to Walters in the fall of 1999. She worked at the flower shop and then the Red Cross in Lawton, eventually working as a substitute teacher in Lawton. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved Thunder Basketball, Oklahoma State Cowboy events, watching NASCAR races, Sons of Anarchy and Yellowstone. She loved decorating and making flower arrangements with her mother. She loved her dog, Sophie.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Mary Jane Veltema; her grandparents, Laverne and Doyle White, Pete and Mildred Veltema; her aunts, Jerry Ann Wingo and Betty Veltema Long; and an uncle, Ralph “Buster” Veltema.
She is survived by 2 children, son Ty Logan and Kera of Walters, and daughter Jamie Logan of Edmond, OK; grandkids, Trip Hanson, Halle Hanson and Ryder Hanson all of Walters; her brother, Chris Veltema of Little Rock, AR; her uncle, Doyle White Jr. of Anadarko; 2 cousins, Darla Veltema of Muskogee, OK and Vicki Wood of Lawton; other relatives and many friends.
