Funeral services at Ratliff City First Baptist Church, Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., Caleb Holbrook officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters with burial in the Sandy Bear Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00 pm at Hart-Wyatt.
Connie Pearl (Martin) Doake was born to Jessie Walter and Alice Dorothy (Kittrell) Martin on November 4, 1947 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on January 9, 2019 at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 5 days.
Connie grew up at Walters, OK. She married Garland Thomas “Tommy” Doake on October 9, 1964 at Walters. They made their home at Meers until moving to DeRidder, LA in 1968. They moved back to Meers and then returned to Louisiana again before making their home at Walters in 1978. In 1982 they began moving around with the Oklahoma oilfield but eventually settled in the Ratliff City area where they have called home since 1986. The couple owned several grocery store locations and for a time Connie had owned and operated the Wildhorse Café at Ratliff City.
She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing, cooking, singing, going to thrift stores and doing genealogy.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Leon, Donnie, Doyle and Keith Martin.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy, of the home; 5 children and their spouses, Guy and Teresa Doake of Duncan, OK, Dave and Gretchen Doake of Edenton, NC, Jessie Keith and Lisa Doake of Lindsay, OK, Gayle and Lee Keck of Lindsay, OK, Charlotte Anne and Randall Gill of Ratliff City, OK; 19 grandchildren, Thomas, Allison, CheyAnne, Bryana, Samantha, Katy Brook, Christian, Keith, Sarah, Samantha, Matthew, Julie, Catherine, Kimberly, Amy, Philip, Jordan, Tommy and Josh; 11 great grandchildren and one on the way; 4 siblings and their spouses, Doug Martin of Walters, Arnie and Dawn Martin of Walters, Margaret and Rod Robison of Gore, OK, and Stanley Martin of Walters; her sisters-in-law, Dolly Martin, Judy Martin, Nina Martin, Helen Pittman and husband Tommy, Anita Thompson and Carolyn Goeringer; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
