Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Gary Thurman officiating. Viewing from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Monday and from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday.

Darla Ann Sanders was born to Roger “Dale” Sanders and Lawana (Powell) Sanders on January 5, 1958 in Walters, OK and departed this life at her home northeast of Walters, OK on April 6, 2022 at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 1 day.

Darla started school in Walters but soon transferred to Empire Schools, graduating from Empire High School in 1976. She has made her home in northeastern Cotton County most of her life. Darla did home-care for numerous people through the years. She enjoyed fishing and having fish fries with friends. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Dakotah Saige.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Sanders; her mother, Lawana Sanders Taylor; her stepfather, Bobby Taylor; her grandparents, Wayne and Opal Sanders, and Granville and Pinkie Powell; and her brother, Dwight Sanders.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dylan and Kressie Sanders and her granddaughter, Dakotah Saige Sanders all of Walters; her sister, Robyn Taylor Medlin and husband Kevin of Alvord, TX; her brother, Brent Taylor of Walters, OK; a special cousin, Duane Dempsey of Walters; her nephews, Brandon Frost of Dimondale, MI, Colt Sanders of Sterling, OK, Colby Medlin and wife Roxann of Alvord, TX, and Carsen Medlin of Alvord, TX; special friends, Nick Hastey and Linda Cain; other relatives and friends.
