Graveside Services at the Temple Cemetery, Temple, OK at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Viewing prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

Dean Aaron Henderson was born to William Theodore and Dollie Plamer (Stiles) Henderson on March 16, 1929 in Phoenix, AZ and departed this life in Wichita Falls on March 8, 2021 at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Dean came to Temple with his family from Arizona at one year old in 1930, making their home southwest of town where they share-cropped. He attended Essaquanahdale School and Temple Schools. He then served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as an Anti-Aircraft Gunner in Japan during the Korean War.

Dean married Florene Pugh on January 29, 1955 at Temple and to the union a son, Max, was born. The couple made their home in Temple, Fort Worth, Wilson and Wichita Falls where he began his career with Civil Service at Sheppard AFB as an exterior electrical lineman. They soon moved to Iowa Park in 1963 where they made their home since that time.

Dean enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, tending to his garden, fishing, piddling in his shop, listening to gospel music and following the grandkids with their activities. He was proud to have been named Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1995 by the Iowa Park Chamber of Commerce.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Florene in 2014; and 4 sibling, Billie Henderson, Evella Eidson, Doug Henderson and an infant sister, Joyce Estella Henderson.

Survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law, Max and Yvonne Henderson of Iowa Park, TX; 6 siblings and spouses, Vernie Henderson of Grapevine, Wanda Singleton and Bobby of Saginaw, Tommy Henderson and Carol of Wichita Falls, Gracie Brinkley and Wayne of Burleson, Betty Shelly of Arlington, Kenny Henderson and Mary of Wichita Falls; 2 grandchildren and spouses, Jodi Schlaud and Chris of Iowa Park, Jeff Henderson and Katy Beth of Wichita Falls; 2 great grandkids, Samuel Schlaud and Penny Jo Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.

Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
