Donald E. LeBarre

Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with interment in the Walters Cemetery.

Donald Eldon LeBarre was born to Elmer Ernest and Ethel Anna (Parks) LeBarre on November 7, 1937 in rural Temple, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on July 10, 2023 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 3 days.

Don grew for the most part west and south of Temple, OK, graduating from THS in 1956. He went to work for Cotton Electric in 1956 and retired in 1991 as a Journeyman Electrician. He married Patricia Ann (Nance) Prescott on February 14, 1992 in Wichita Falls, TX. For the past 32 years Don has painted, remodeled, and stayed busy as a local handyman. 

He enjoyed gardening, raising plants and vegetables from seed, birdwatching, fishing, and reading. Don also enjoyed cooking, canning, pickling, making jelly, and was famous for his squash relish. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Peggy, Linda, Judy and Ernestine; and his brothers Bobby and Norman.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann “Pat” of the home; a son, Anthony LeBarre and Hope of Lawton; a sister, Ginger Boon and Andy of Temple, OK; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Olin Nelms and Joe Hardin both of Temple, Mike and Jeannie Jahr of Jefferson, TX, Sandy Warden and John Nance both of Walters; his grandchildren, Morgan LeBarre Sias and Jacob, Mackenzie Benson and Austin LeBarre; his great grandchildren, Heaven and Hayden, Kristen, Elena and Carson; his bonus kids, Gail Prentice, Valerie and Cliff Doggett and their daughter Landra; his baby girls, dogs Lucy and Princess; many beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
