Evelyn LaVearn (Irwin) Scott, “Dugan or Duggie,” was born March 10, 1939 in Lawton, OK to Clovis and Veda (Brewster) Irwin and departed this life on March 27, 2019 in rural Walters, OK. She grew up in Lawton attending Washington Elementary and graduated from LHS in 1958. She liked to remind us that she was a Wolverine. She married Kenneth G. Scott in 1957 and started their family in Carnegie OK. From there they moved to Tulsa before settling south of Lawton on the farm where she lived until she passed away.

Evelyn or LaVearn, whichever name you knew her by, worked several jobs throughout her life to include Haggar Slacks in Temple OK and CR Anthony’s in Lawton. She spent many years raising her kids and helping “Ken” on the farm. In 1989 she went to work for Taliaferro Mental Health Hospital in Lawton and stayed there until she retired in 2002. She loved her family, friends and The Lord. She was a member of Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Good Cheer OHCE since 1967. She was a member of various churches through the years as they moved, but when they moved south of Lawton they settled their membership at Antioch Baptist Church for years and later to FBC Faxon where she attended until her passing. Mom loved serving the Lord and one of her favorite memories was cooking for the cabin at Falls Creek with Ken. She loved to see young people come to know the Lord at Falls Creek.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Scott; her mom, Veda Irwin; her dad, Clovis Irwin; and her sister, Joyce Ann Casey.
