Frankie Lou Toquothty

Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Dr. Jack Jacob and Rev. Kevin Simpson officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt from 5:30-7:30 on Monday evening. Memorial Donations can be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 341, Walters, OK 73572.

 

Frankie Lou (Sylvester) Toquothty was born to Francis Clyde and Gladys Louise (Reece) Sylvester on July 20, 1940 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on January 31, 2019 at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Frankie grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1958. She then attended Cameron State Agricultural College, graduating in 1960. She married Harvey Garth Mowatt on June 1, 1960 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1967. She later married Delbert Holsted Toquothty on March 29, 1968, making their home in Walters. Delbert preceded her in death on March 1, 2009.

Frankie was employed at Cotton Electric for 19½ years. She had been a member of the Cotton County Art Council, the Cotton County Homesteaders Club and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Garth Mowatt; her daughter, Ivy Paulette Mowatt; her sister, Frances Clydene Thomas; her grandson, Joshua Mowatt; her parents, Clyde and Louise Sylvester; her husband, Delbert Holsted Toquothty; and her son-in-law, B.J. Rayford.

Frankie is survived by 3 daughters and their spouses, Lynette and Gale Vandeventer of Edmond, OK, Denise and Daryl Ping of Claremore, OK, Cherice Rayford of Walters; 2 sons, Bobby Toquothty of Grandfield, OK and Danny Toquothty of California; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Jami and Darrell Steiner, Heather and Ben Dyer, Kesha and Zach Womack, Jennifer Vandeventer, Christopher Vandeventer, Kelcie Rayford, C.J. and Lisa Rayford, Gabriella Toquothty, Robert Toquothty Jr., Royce Ruiz, Seya Montoya, Angel Montoya; 5 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
