Gordon Lee Hudson was born to Minnie Thelma (Priddy) and Henry Newton Hudson on July 30, 1923, Cushing, OK, and departed this life in Fort Worth, TX on September 26, 2021 at the age of 98 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Gordon grew up in Cushing, graduating in 1941. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps serving honorably as a Turret Gunner Sergeant in B17 Bombers. He was discharged on 22 FEB 1946.
He married Nelda Irene Pixler on August 16, 1947 in Rawlings, WY and to the union a daughter was born. Gordon went to work for Sinclair as a unit operator which he did for 4 years and then returned to college. He attended at West Minster in Salt Lake and then to Wyoming University from 1951 to 1953 where he finished his bachelor’s degree. He then worked for Ohio Oil Company from 1953-57 and then was with Amoco Oil from 1958-1984, retiring with them in Denver where the company had moved them in 1972. The couple moved to Ardmore, OK in 1988 and onto Temple, OK in 1996 before a final move to Burleson, TX.
Gordon was a member of Alsbury Baptist Church, Burleson. He was a faithful Christian man, always active with his hometown church. He loved to teach the Bible and loved to sing for the Lord. He also enjoyed bowling and golf through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and later his wife, Nelda in 2005.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Benny Gresham of Burleson, TX; his grandson, Kivett Gresham and wife Susan of Burleson and children, Aiden and Andrew; his granddaughter, Kimberley Trillett and husband Timothy of Horn Lake, MS and children, Rachel, Lydia, Ethan and Anna; other family and friends.
Memorial Donations can be made to Alsbury Baptist Church, Elks Creek Senior Living Community or the Alzheimer's Association.
