Hazel A. (Cox) Rylant was born to Andy Lee and Daisy Ethel (Davis) Cox on November 10, 1933 in Temple, OK. She was the 6th of 7 children. She departed this life in Temple, OK on October 13, 2024 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Hazel grew up in Temple. She married Russell Jack Rylant in February of 1950 in Burkburnett, TX. To this union they were blessed with Diane and Andy. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing dominoes with Harold and friends and collected Beanie Babies. She also enjoyed being outside and loved working in the yard. She kept a neat and tidy house, was a good cook, and a good granny or Granny Grunt as she referred to herself.

Hazel was preceded in death by her companion of 26 years, Harold Parkey; her parents, Andy and Daisy Cox; 3 brothers, Jack, Creed and Gene Cox; 2 sisters, Dorothy Lambert and Jobillie Lynch; her granddaughter, Deidre Witt; and a great granddaughter, Farrah Love Sinclair.

She is survived by her children, Diane Witt Walton and husband David of Forney, TX, and Andy Rylant and wife Cheryl of Edmond, OK; Her sister Nelda Cooper of Norman, OK; her grandchildren, Dodie Witt-VanSchuyver, Sky Rylant and wife Christa, and Jenna Rylant Sinclair; her great grandchildren, Chandler VanSchuyver, Hannah VanSchuyver, Emma Rylant and Brooks Rylant, Arabella Sinclair and Veil Sinclair; her nieces, nephews and friends.
