James "Jim" Keenan

James Lewis Keenan was born to James Elward and Brenda Lou (Vernon) Keenan on November 14, 1962 in Duncan, OK and departed this life in Duncan on April 18, 2021 at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Jim attended school at Walters, graduating in 1981. During high school, he attended Red River Technology school in Duncan where he learned to weld. He later received an associate degree in Liberal Arts from College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA.

From February of 1980 to September of 1982, he was a Mechanized Infantry Tow Gunner for the Oklahoma National Guard, then joined the U.S. Marine Corps until March of 1986. During that time, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Twentynine Palm, CA as a radio operator. He finished his military career with the California Army National Guard as a Mechanized Infantry Armor Operator from March of 1986 to October 1988.

Jim made his home with Patty Louise (Bair) Bares Keenan for many years. They married on October 11, 1990 in Duncan and eventually moved to Texas where they adopted their daughter, Jamie Lynn Keenan. They moved on to Colorado and Jimmy later returned to Oklahoma and the Waurika Lake area.

He enjoyed shooting his guns, singing Karaoke and playing his guitar. He loved visiting with people and never met a stranger.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Jamie Jackson and Chris of Comanche, OK and Lacy Shelton of Beaumont, Tx; 3 grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Jackson and Noelani Shelton; his brother, Dusty Keenan and Diane of Geronimo; other relatives and friends.
