Jason Albano

Jason Anthony Albano passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 at home in Duncan, Oklahoma after a two-year battle with cancer.

Jason was born in Lafayette, Louisiana in May 1976 to Michael and Deborah Albano. The family returned to Oklahoma where Jason graduated from Heritage Hall High School in 1994, continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma. He attended graduate school in Missouri, Utah, and Virginia leading to his successful career as a neuropsychologist. Using his education and knowledge, he spent several years serving the needs of our soldiers at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Jason enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, and spending time with his wife and family. He was an avid OU football fan, he lived for game day, donning their crimson and cream with pride. He often claimed that the secret to a perfect smoked brisket was just like the Sooners winning strategy low and slow, with a whole lot of love. Friends and family will always remember the way he cheered for the team, sharing winning strategies with his dad, and shouting at the tv as if the players could hear him from his chair. He often hosted family gatherings, where he would stay up all night to BBQ and smoke a variety of meats.

Jason is survived by his parents Michael and Deb Albano, his wife Beth of 11 years, his two step-children, and two grandchildren Mazzie LaRae, and Bowen Dean Jason.He was generous, big hearted, and always ready to lend a hand. In his honor, let us remember that life's too short not to savor every delicious moment - especially those spent with family, friends, and a good piece of smoked brisket. Rest easy Big Al; may the BBQ pits in heaven ever be hot and the Sooners always victorious! Go big or go home!

Funeral services at Crossroads Baptist church, Elgin, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., Curtis Erwin officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

A Memorial Service for Dr. Albano will also be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, at Reynolds Army Heath Clinic Chapel at Fort Sill for those whose lives he touched and impacted during his years at Reynolds.
