Jerry Wayne Coy

Funeral Services at the Comanche Nation Community Center, Walters, Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., Edward Eschiti officiating. Burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. A Prayer Service will be held at the center on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Jerry Wayne Coy, Jr. was born September 18, 1966 in Lawton, OK to Jerry Wayne and Lou Ellen (Chockpoyah) Coy and departed this life in Lawton, OK on April 2, 2023 at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Coy grew up in Walters. He worked 15 years as a farmhand for Kenneth Simpson and then was employed at Elliott’s and later did roofing. He loved his dogs and visiting with friends and family. He always enjoyed the pow wow, country music, having a beer and cooking out.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Coy.

He is survived by his father, Jerry Coy, of Walters; his sisters, Jamie Coy Tahchawwickah and Sally Coy both of Walters; his step-kids, Penny Kay Reece and Levi Campbell both of Walters; his stepdad, Popcorn Gwoompi of Walters; 2 nephews, Lee Tahchawwickah and John Tahchawwickah; 2 nieces, Sidney Barton, Sancey Barton and husband Brandon Dorman; 2 great nephews, Henry Jones and Jordan Barton; many other relatives and friends.
