Johnny Wayne Powell

Johnny W. Powell passed from this life on February 14, 2019 at home with his family surrounding him. He was 80 years old.

He grew up and graduated high school in 1956 at Temple, Oklahoma, and continued to stay close to those roots his whole life.

He was a faithful son and brother, a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, and a generous member of humanity.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Freta of 44 years, his parents Charlie and Florence, his sister Charlene Smith, and his son John Kirk.

He is survived by his son Wes and wife Shellee, step son Johnny Dennis and wife Margaret, step daughters Sandra Kay and Deborah Lynn, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He will be missed dearly by many.

Visitation will be on February 23 from 11-1:30 pm at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple. Graveside Services will be held at the Hastings Cemetery, Hastings, OK on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. with James Gilbert officiating.
