Jonathan James Jones

Jonathan, James Jones was born Nathan James and Barbara Jean (Speed) Jones on February 13, 1977 in Lawton, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on January 21, 2025 at the age of 47 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Jon grew up in Lawton and Marlow, graduating from MHS in 1996. He joined and served with the Oklahoma National Guard and worked as a welder for Sooner Trailer. He began roughnecking in 1999 for LE Jones and later worked for Frontier Drilling and Unit Drilling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, roughnecking, spending time with his kids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara (Speed) Jones and Nathan Jones; his maternal grandparents, James Speed and Hallie Speed; and his paternal grandparents, James H. Jones Sr. and Auddine J. Duckett. 

Survivors include 4 children, daughter Candy Lyn Gamble and husband Kenneth of Arkansas and grandchildren Darrold and Harley, Daughter Dakota Ybarra and husband Gage of Woodlawn, TN and grandchildren Adalyn and Aidan, son Hunter Brown of Marlow and grandchild Nolan, and son K’dyn Jones of Marlow, OK; the mother of his children, Sequoia Wise of Marlow; 3 siblings, sister JoElla Macias of Florida and niece Brittny Cuff and husband Sid, and great nephew Laramie, sister Jennifer Hodge and husband Ned of Geronimo, OK and nephews Dallas and Dakota, sister Leslie Macias of Florida; special loved ones, Felix and Sylvia Macias of Geronimo; other relatives and a host of friends.
